Phoning it in for ‘Scream’ series

20110408-104011.jpg

Since I have been rather preoccupied to record our own podcasts here, I’ve decided to leech onto others, so that they may do the heavy lifting (read: hours of editing).

This coming week, head over to The Avod (http://theavod.blogspot.com/) and hear a rather lengthy dissection (which ultimately becomes a vivisection) of the ‘Scream’ series with Count Vardulon (http://theavod.blogspot.com/) , The DiveMistress, “Schlockmania’s” Don Guarisco (http://www.schlockmania.com/) , and yours truly.

We celebrate (?) the return of the Wes Craven franchise with a look back at the popular series and its legacy. Most importantly, it offers me the chance to say “Skeet” in casual conversation.

Head on over to the Avod, listen to some of Count’s excellent work and spend a couple hours with us. But for god’s sake, don’t answer the phone.

  1. Rob you should of used that word first and extensively during your Kitten Natividad interview instead :D.

  2. Very good job Rob. You seemed to most controlled of the four. Not quite as giddy as the hosts, or as long-winded and detailed as Don.

    • Thanks! I do miss the chats. I really wish I could do it more. I have a few series in the works with Count. Probably this summer!

  3. Incidentally, you made me very sad with that final comment basically affirming that Natsukashi is practically dead.

You should have refrained and kept some light of hope instead of going all Emperor Palpatine on us.

    • It’s not dead. I just don’t have the time to coordinate and edit the interviews. I’m still doing them, in fact talking with Christopher Smith, director of ‘American Movie’ and ‘The Yes Men’ next week. But it’s a video chat with my film class. So if you have any questions, fire away. I’ll ask him. Once I am not busy being a limo driver for first graders, I will have time to edit. Until then, we will have to stick to the written word.

  4. Great entertaining discussion on the Avod. Maybe I’m missing the point but I never got past the first movie for a few reasons (like feeling the movie was geared towards couples who were too ‘scared’ for more harder edge stuff and gave them an excuse to cuddle/hug/hold each other at the cineplex, Neve Campbell’s hotness being a hype machine creation started by women because they didn’t feel threatened by her and not doing it for me, having a cliched more than homage vibe, et cetera) but the discussion on the series was godd at least. Neve Campbell sometimes hot legs and feet but the rest, meh. đŸ™‚

  5. I thought the second started off rather strong, but really petered out, much like the original film. I was never a Neve fan, myself. She was far too breathy and gaspy for my liking. And while I never noticed her feet, I can’t see them holding a candle to Selma Hayak’s (thank you, Quentin, for “From Dusk Til Dawn”).
